Dr. Michael Duggan

Dr. Michael Duggan is an EBVS-recognised Specialist in Equine Surgery with extensive clinical experience across private referral practice and academic institutions. His work spans equine and large animal surgery, with a strong focus on clinical and translational research. He is also an FEI Permitted Treating Veterinarian and an Official Veterinarian.

Michael is currently an ICAT Fellow at the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine, Ireland. He holds a doctoral degree and is currently completing a second PhD. Michael holds a number of postgraduate qualifications in Veterinary Education and Radiation Safety.

Driven by a passion for innovation, Michael is committed to integrating emerging technologies into veterinary practice to improve clinical outcomes, education, and research. His academic interests are reflected in an expanding publication record and active editorial roles. He serves as Associate Editor of the Irish Veterinary Journal and is a member of the Editorial Review Board for Veterinary Surgery and has written multiple textbook chapters.
